Dear colleagues and friends,
We are pleased to invite you to the first public engagement event of the Artsakh Stories Project, Her Stories, Our Future: Women’s Health and Displacement from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia, an initiative that documents the experiences of women who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) to Armenia, with a particular focus on those working in or receiving healthcare. The project aims to preserve their stories, highlight the health and humanitarian challenges they faced during the blockade and displacement, and foster collaboration between researchers, institutions, and communities in both Armenia and Canada.
The event will take place on Thursday, December 4, at 7:00 p.m. Yerevan time (11:30 a.m. NL–Canada time) at the Akian Gallery, American University of Armenia (AUA). This hybrid gathering will include simultaneous English–Armenian interpretation. The evening will feature a brief overview of the project and its goals, followed by the launch of the project website ( justheallab.com ), as well as short addresses from collaborators and partners. A panel discussion with members of the research team: Armenuhi Nikoghosyan, Tatevik Galstyan, and Samvel Khachatryan, moderated by Dr. Hourig Attarian, will offer further insights into their contributions and perspectives. The event will conclude with an open Q&A, opportunities for conversation, and light refreshments.
This event is hosted in collaboration with the American University of Armenia and Memorial University of Newfoundland, and is supported by our project sponsors: the Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the American Psychological Association (Division 48) Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict and Violence, and the Memorial University of Newfoundland. We would be delighted to have you join us for this meaningful gathering.
